Maritime Museum and the Presidio

The sea and the prisoners in the history of Ushuaia.
Created as such in 1994, the Museum has revalued the building of the former Presidio of Ushuaia. It began as a Maritime Museum, exhibiting a complete collection of naval models. You will be able to know the pavilions where the Prison worked, some of them recreated, and a special relic: the Historical Wing that is preserved in the state in which it was when the Presidio was closed in 1947. It also houses an interesting collection on Antarctic Expeditions. It was declared National Historical Monument in April 1997.

Guided tours: Every day at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Museum of the End of the World

In six rooms, the genesis of the end of the world. The Museum opened its doors in 1979 and since then has been dedicated to the value of all the provincial heritage. Their collections are exhibited in five rooms, where they stand out the showcases dedicated to the native Fuegians, explorers, personalities linked to the local history, testimonies of old shipwrecks and natural history. It has library and boutique.
Post office: From the Museum of the End of the World you can dispatch correspondence to any destination. The sealing of the postal units with the Museum logo, adds a particular characteristic of testimony of his visit to the end of the world,
The same sealing service is also provided, free of charge, in the passport of our visitors.

Guided tours: Museum: Monday to Friday at 11am and 2pm / Old Government House: Monday to Friday at 12:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
